MatchTrip ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our 2026 international football tournament trip planning application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.
- Travel preferences: preferred travel style, departure city, national team affiliation, and trip optimization settings.
- Trip data: match selections, itineraries, route preferences, and booking status.
- Device information: push notification tokens for sending trip updates and reminders.
- Usage data: how you interact with the app, including features used and trip calculations requested.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Trip planning: generating optimized travel itineraries across tournament host cities.
- Route optimization: calculating the best routes between matches based on your preferences for cost, time, or convenience.
- Flight pricing: searching for real-time flight prices and availability for your itinerary.
- Notifications: sending push notifications about trip updates, price changes, and match schedule updates.
- Account management: maintaining your account and syncing data across devices.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Flight booking partners: when searching for flights, we share origin, destination, and travel dates with our booking partner Duffel to retrieve pricing and availability. No personal identification data is shared in these queries.
- Ticket marketplaces: the Ticket Radar feature retrieves publicly available ticket prices and listings from independent third-party marketplaces (such as Ticombo, Gametime, and Viagogo). We do not share your personal information with these marketplaces to provide this feature. If you choose to follow a link to a marketplace to view or purchase tickets, you leave MatchTrip and any information you provide there is governed by that marketplace's own privacy policy. We may participate in affiliate programs with these marketplaces; this does not involve sharing your personal data with them.
- Service providers: we use trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, database management, and push notification delivery.
- Legal obligations: we may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Trip data and itineraries are kept for the duration of your account plus 90 days after deletion to allow for account recovery. Flight price caches are temporary and expire automatically. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure password hashing, and token-based authentication. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Export: receive your trip data in a portable format.
- Correction: update or correct inaccurate personal information through your account settings.
- Deletion: request the deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Withdrawal of consent: opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings.
7. Children's Privacy
MatchTrip is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of MatchTrip after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
